Position Summary
- The Dietetic Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient meal and nourishment selections in accordance with diet orders and nutrition interventions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education
  - Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program.
- Credentials
  - State Required: None
  - GPH Required/Preferred: None
Physical Demands
- Stand and/or walk constantly.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climb small ladder occasionally.
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs. force frequently.
- Bend, reach, stoop and kneel occasionally
- Eye hand coordination occasionally.
- Reach shoulder height constantly.
Essential Functions
- Enters patient meal requests accurately in accordance with diet order score
- May assist tray line building patient trays.
- May assist in preparing food items for meal prep.
- May assist serving trays to patients.
- May assist in removal of trays from patient rooms and report or chart intake of meals, snacks and supplements
- Communicates patient’s special needs, diet preferences or changes to Dietitian for follow up.
- Track supplement stock and build weekly order form.
- May assist Dietitian with assessments upon completion of an ADA certified program as a Dietetic Technician.
